Mr. Johnson “Grady’’ Hopkins Jr., 76, of Ellijay died Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at his residence.

He was born July 14, 1945, in Cumming  to the late Johnson ‘’Grady’’ Hopkins Sr. and Avery Sweatman Hopkins. He worked in the poultry business as a self-employed poultry farmer. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Cumming.

He is survived by wife Jean Hopkins; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Rachel Hopkins; daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Mitchell Wilson, Darlene and Ricky Teague, all of Ellijay; brothers, Lamar Hopkins and James Hopkins, both of Winder; sisters, Martha Wheeler, of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Emma Hopkins, of Winder; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. John Reece and the Rev. Jamie Kerr officiating.

Interment was in Yukon Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bradley Dupree, Michael Wilson, Timothy Leslie, Mason Hopkins, Cole Wilson and Madden Hopkins.

Bernhardt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
