Rois W. Ledford

Mr. Rois W. Ledford, 73, of Talking Rock, died Monday, June 29, 2020.

He was born, July 30, 1946, in Pickens County, to the late Wilson and Ovaline McArthur Ledford. 

He was a 1964 graduate of Pickens High School, served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was retired from Gold Kist where he worked as a truck driver. He was a member of  Clear Creek Baptist Church. 

He is preceded in death by brother, Clifford Ledford; sisters; Esther McClure and Charlotte Meeks.

He is survived by wife of 52 years,  Martha Findley Ledford; daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Andy Whitworth, of Carrrollton; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Angie Ledford, of Talking Rock; grandchildren, Zac Adams, Cody Whitworth, Caleb Whitworth, Emma Whitworth and Ethan Whitworth; sisters and brother-in-law, Rosa Nell and Bobby Aaron, of Jasper and Carrie Waddell, of Ellijay; brothers and sister-in-law, Steve and Lisa Ledford, of Talking Rock and Kenneth and Shirley Ledford, of Ellijay; sister-in-law, Cecilia Ledford, of Winter Garden, Fla.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2020, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy Dotson, the Rev. Jerry Banks, the Rev. Chris Chastain and the Rev. Travis Hughes officiating. Music was by the Clear Creek Baptist Church choir.

Pallbearers were Zac Adams, Cody Whitworth, Caleb Whitworth, Emma Whitworth, Ethan Whitworth and Waldo Pierce. 

Honorary pallbearers were Steve Ledford, Kenneth Ledford, Bob Findley, Bill Findley, Ed Findley, Jim Findley and Evans Ensley.

Interment was in the Clear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
