Mrs. Pauline “Polly” Witt Cochran, 93, of Ellijay, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020.

She was born July 17, 1927, in Polk County, to the late Herman W. Witt and Pluma Horn Witt. She worked in accounting for GE and Sears, and was a member of the Ellijay Church of Christ. 

She is preceded in death by husband, James (Gus) Cochran; son, Robin James Cochran; siblings, Ruby Wilkerson, Annie Ruth Smith, Jessie Mae Harris, Lois W. Varnum, Paul Witt and Mary Forrester.

Her legacy was raising her family in the Lord. She was a strong Christian woman who was famous for her hospitality.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, David and Angela Ballew Cochran, of Ellijay; grandchildren, Holly (Nathan) Collier, Caleb (Maranda) Cochran, Joshua (Courtney) Cochran; and great-grandchildren; Macy and Quinn Collier, Aurora and Iris Cochran.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020, from Ellijay Church of Christ Cemetery with Minister Caleb Cochran officiating.
