Mary Ruth Stamey Roberts

Mrs. Mary Ruth Stamey Roberts, 92, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, at her residence.

She was born May 31, 1930, in Union County, to the late Lewis Victor Stamey and Mary Selena Louisa Loving Stamey. She was employed by Dixie Dime where she worked as a clerk.

She is preceded in death by husband, Louis Roberts; brothers, Eston Stamey, Lewis Stamey and Rudolph Stamey; sisters, Bulah Ensley and Elivie Gentry.

She is survived by sons, John Roberts, of Talking Rock and Charles Roberts, of East Ellijay; grandchildren, Caleb Roberts, Shawn Rutledge, and Heather Rutledge; and great-grandchild, Raylen Cremeen.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022, from East Ellijay Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Fields, the Rev, Charles Simms and the Rev. Chad Kelly officiating.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Music was by the East Ellijay Church Choir.

Pallbearers were Billy Arier, Buster Roberts, John Roberts, Steve Fields, Chad Kelly and Charles Simms.
