Macel ‘Jane’ Buck

Mrs. Macel “Jane” Buck, 83, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, at her home in Ellijay. She lived in the Cartecay community and was of the Methodist faith. She is the daughter of the late Harlie Lowther and Avis McCay Lowther.

She is preceded in death by husband, Walton T. Buck Sr., Almonta Markwood, Richard Lowther, Philip Lowther, Mary Weaver, Henry Lowther and Leslie Lowther.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Walton “Wally” T. Buck Jr. and wife, Milyn, of Peru, N.Y.; daughter and son-in-law, Romy Strickland and Sam, of Griffin; sisters, Margie Gillespie, of Fayettville, Pa., and Betty Capps, of Laytonsville, Md.; brothers, Obrey Lowther, of Columbia Station, Ohio and Harlie “Ralph” Lowther and Diane, of Brandonberg, Ky.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2022, from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Dr. David Drake officiating.

A graveside service and interment will follow from the West View Cemetery in Atlanta, at 2 p.m.

Flowers will be excepted; however, the family has requested that no food be brought to the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Homestead Hospice in Blairsville.

Bernhardt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
