Hazel Elizabeth Ledford Collins

Mrs. Hazel Elizabeth Ledford Collins passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022, at the age of 87 following a prolonged illness.

She was born and raised in Ellijay.

She is preceded in death by father, John Harley Ledford; mother, Margaret Elizabeth James Ledford; and eight brothers, Walter Clay Ledford, Joseph
Cecil Ledford, Sherman Carl Ledford, James Garfield Ledford, Robert Earl Ledford, Horace Roosevelt Ledford, Howard Ledford (deceased as an infant); and Charles Ledford (deceased as an infant).

She is survived by son, Douglas Buffington and  wife, Melanie; daughter, Sharon Monroe and  husband, David; son, Steven Buffington and  wife, Connie; grandsons, Blake Buffington and wife, Lindsey; Wesley Clackum and wife, Kristen, Wade Buffington, Cole Buffington; and two great-grandsons.

Those blessed to know her will remain inspired by her deep love of family, her tremendous work ethic, her ingenuity, her fierce independence, her loyalty to friends and her respect for the Word of God.

Funeral services were held at Bernhardt Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022.
