Mr. Francis “Frank” Percy Vautrot Jr., 88, of Ellijay, passed away peacefully  Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 30, 1934, in Sunset, La., to the late Francis P. Vautrot and Frances Beaux Vautrot. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force.

Frank “Pop” loved the Lord and his family. He especially loved spending time with his great-grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, listening to gospel music and family vacations.

He is preceded in death by sister, Ethlene Rand and sister-in-law, Laura Vautrot.

He is survived by loving wife, Betty Lou Martin Vautrot; sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Gail Vautrot, Ronnie and Cynthia Vautrot, and Randy and Sandra McClure; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Robert Collier, Janie and Gene Hice and Lisa and John Lowman; brothers, Jude and Melba Vautrot and Jerry Vautrot; 12 grandchildren, Erin Howell, Megan Clampitt (BJ), Camille Luther (Chad), Amy Zapata (Shane), Jake Vautrot, Amber West Johnston, Tiffany Paschal (James), Trevor McClure, Josh McClure (Emily), Maranda Lentz (Robert), Michelle Holloway (Adam), Brittany Stewart (Chip), and 21 great-grandchildren, Aislynn Howell and Gavin Howell, Piper Zapata and Landon Zapata, Luke Clampitt, Silas Clampitt, and Kayla Vautrot, Ginger Paschal, Jordan Paschal, Brantley Paschal, Kaylee Paschal, Sabrina Paschal, and Josie Paschal, Brayden McClure and Bayleigh McClure, Hudson Lentz and Leah Lentz, Noah Stewart, Cade Stewart and Cole Stewart Holloway, McKenlee Stewart, Luke Clampitt and Silas Clampitt.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, from the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Richards and the Rev. John Reece officiating.

Interment was in the Underwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Trevor McClure, James Paschal, BJ Clampitt, Chip Stewart, Rob Lentz, Josh McClure, Adam Holloway, Chad Luther, Jake Vautrot and Shane Zapata.
